Dear Diary:

Big, scary, day today - and what a fizzle it was.

Boss asked me last week if I wanted "the whole team" on hand to help - that would be me, myself, and I: Ralph's been gone for nineteen months.

Took the secondary off-line as planned at 1:31PM; ran updatemanager for 82 minutes with auto restart at 2:54. Did the primary right at 5:30 with restart at 6:55 - no problems except I mis-typed the account id the second time.

Uptime at primary shutdown was 492 days, 6 hours, 18 minutes. - 1.7TB Sybase, 600GB Informix, IQ, Actuate, Apache2/PHP; 16 Cores 96GB, 1240 users typical load.

Windows? Sure, boss, I get it.
